Bay Village Pollinator Sanctuary

Welcome to the Bay Village Pollinator Sanctuary, a project created by local Girl Scout Troop 70932 to help support bees, butterflies and other important pollinators.

Pollinators are a small but essential part of our ecosystem. They help plants grow, flowers bloom and food get produced — but their populations have been declining. We wanted to do something about that in our own community.

This garden is designed with native Ohio plants that provide food and habitat from spring through fall, creating a space where pollinators can thrive. Through this project, we’re learning about the environment, teamwork and how small actions can make a big impact.

We’ve been working with the City of Bay Village to identify the best public site for our garden, and partnering with the Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District to choose the right native plants to support pollinators.
